DYKEMAN Project Featured at CEFPI World Conference

DYKEMAN Principal Tim Jewett has always looked forward to attending the CEFPI World Conference, but his anticipation was even higher for this year’s annual expo in San Jose, Sept, 25-27. This year the DYKEMAN team had a stake in the game. Their current project, Valley View Middle School, was showcased during the two day event.

DYKEMAN and Dull Olson Weekes Architects are collaborating on the design of Valley View Middle School, a replacement project for the Snohomish School District. The school will house 950 students in 160,000 square feet of program area when it’s completed in 2012. The school is designed to meet the Living Building Challenge, setting goals of leaving a zero carbon footprint and having a net-zero energy consumption.

“The annual CEFPI Conference is always an incredible opportunity to re-think and explore how we can design more engaging and effective learning environments. This year’s event was no exception. It was an honor to see our work showcased at this international gathering,” said Jewett.

CEFPI is a worldwide professional 501(c)(3) non-profit association whose sole mission is improving the places where children learn.
