Bothell HS / Campus Redevelopment
About the project:
Phase III includes the redevelopment of the south end of the school campus. Design began in 2007 thanks to the support of the District voters through passage of the 2006 capital bond. Phase III includes Administration, Counseling, Student Services, General and Special Purpose Classrooms, Special Education, Culinary Arts Classroom, Commons and Kitchen. The project consists of approximately 87,000 square feet of building area, as well as the final re-development of the site. It involves building in the middle of an existing campus while school operations are ongoing.
Due to the complexity of this process, Cornerstone General Contractors were selected for the GC/CM contract and have been involved in the schematic design to assist in determining the best approach to mitigating these issues. Phase I is located on the extreme northern end of the campus; Phase II entailed construction within the existing campus... nearly bisecting it; and Phase III will do the same. Phase III will divide the P.E. building, Performing Arts Center, and the primary student parking area on the north from the remainder of the temporary campus on the south. Careful thought is being given to the selection of building materials. Durable materials, District standards, and consideration for ease of maintenance are guiding choices for the building systems.
