Camano Commons
About the project:
A Gathering Place for the Island...
Camano Commons originated from the European idea of a "third place," meaning a space other than home or office, where people gather either to shop, have a bite to eat, listen to musicians, or just hang out. The overriding theme is one of community.
The Commons is a U-shaped plaza of eight buildings grouped around a gently sloping common green space. The development consists of Pacific Northwest architecture with multiple sustainable and environmental features. Some of the varied mixed uses include a coffee house, fitness salon, bookstore, farmer’s and art market, and a caretaker’s house.
