Derek Franz

Intern Architect

Derek is a practical, hands-on problem-solver with an acute ability to encapsulate the objectives of each project. He has worked on several large-scale commercial projects including education, tenant improvements, and retrofits. An employee since 2014, Derek attended Western Washington University and received his Master of Architecture degree from Andrews University shortly thereafter. He enjoys the blending of creative ideas with real-world solutions, and brings a wide variety of talents to the company.

Knowledgeable in 3D modeling, rendering, and drafting, Derek’s passion in architecture stems from his interest in other artistic forms such as drawing and watercoloring. When not practicing architecture, Derek enjoys several outdoor activities including cycling, hiking, camping, and cross-country skiing. He also has a love of the Spanish language and culture, and has traveled throughout Europe and Latin America. At home, Derek enjoys spending time with his pet hedgehog, Sonic.
