Dykeman

Camano Island Residence

This large private residence on the beach of Camano Island was designed to accommodate a large extended family, for gatherings year-around.  Dykeman began with architectural design and then moved into interior services as it neared the construction phase.

From the beginning, Dykeman worked closely with the client, listening to all the desired wants and needs for this family beach home. We put together a plan that would accommodate a multi-generational family, from little ones to seniors with private and public spaces for all.

A two-story stone fireplace and large, lofty open living areas invite entertaining. Stone and wood floors were selected for durability and easy maintenance.  Large stainless commercial appliances were chosen to cook for a crowd. There are laundry rooms on both floors, and a convenient shower/mud room to quickly wash sand and salt off. An elevator was incorporated to accommodate transitioning one floor to the other as needed. Lots of southern and western light floods in through windows and doors with beach and water beckoning just steps away.  Overall, the comfort and aesthetic of this home allows enjoyment both indoors and out, year-around.
