Everett Public Library

The historic Library in Everett was restored, remodeled, and expanded. It is an historic, social, and architectural city centerpiece. It is situated on the western slope of downtown overlooking the waterfront and Olympic Mountains. The new design capitalized on the natural beauty of the site and the craftsmanship and details of the building itself.

The expansion involved removing an insensitive 1960’s addition and replacing it with a larger and more integrated one. A grand two story barrel-vaulted reading gallery is now the hub of visual and functional activity. Specialty and support areas flank the galler. The restoration was faithful to the original finishes, furnishings, and artifacts.  New and existing murals, sculptures, paintings, art glass, furniture, details, and materials all support the historically significant design intent of the building
