“What do we live for if not to make the world less difficult for each other?”

- George Eliot
Sarah’s path to architecture began in the mountains of northeastern Washington developing a deep love and respect for the natural environment. This eventually led her to Alabama where she earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University and participated in the celebrated Rural Studio program. It was during this time, living and working hands-on in rural Alabama, that she really learned of the impact architecture has on the way we experience our lives, and this is a lesson that continues to guide her practice today.
Joining the Dykeman team in 2026, Sarah draws on over 12 years of experience across a wide range of project types including healthcare, workplace, restaurants, movie theaters, and K-12. No matter the project type or scale, Sarah has always been an advocate for sustainable, accessible, and affordable design. She views every project as a unique opportunity to leverage design for the betterment of human and environmental health.
Outside of the office, Sarah is a collector of hobbies, plants, and art projects. Her greatest joy is raising her young son with her husband and family dog – exploring the PNW together and attempting to keep up with her son’s boundless energy.
